Buying a new horse!

Anyone have any good tips on how you go about buying a new horse/pony these days? Just recently lost my horse of 25 years so totally out of touch with the market.
I'm shocked by how many people all seem to be after the same horse as soon as it comes on the market and the prices are interesting to!
If anyone knows any decent dealers in the south east?
I've always had Arabs in the past that I've broken in myself but at my age I feel I'm a bit past that sort of thing ?

Stalk find out as much as you can before you even go see it. Post on social media about it. Look through whoever is selling its profile etc etc. This can save you a wasted journey.
