Buying a pony

Help! I am buying a pony soon, BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT SIZE HE/SHE SHOULD BE!!! I am 5ft 3inches and am still growing, most of my height is in my leg, and I spose I am of medium build...

does any1 have an idea of what size my horse/pony should be?????

Go to a Riding School so you can try a variety of sizes and the instructor can guide you otherwise i would try around 14.2-15.2 hh range depending on build

If you are leggy then something with a big girth will take up your leg. I presume as you are still growing you are a teenager, so perhaps a nice cob, welsh sec D, hafflinger or similar natvie, or a native x TB.

I would have thought 14 - 15 hands. Some horse ride bigger than others, so its probaly best to just see what you feel comfy with. With a cob/native type, if you do shoot up and out you wont be worrying about moving onto something bigger too soon as they are good weight carriers. Happy hunting

yh, i normally ride a horse of 17hh, and i think thats a bit big 4 me... but thanx, i will try looking 4 something of about 14-15hh.

I am nearly 13... why??
