Hi guys,

I simply can not find a suitable young sports horse on a £10k budget. Im just looking for something to low level event/ hunt and I'll bring on, not expecting something with points etc. So I've started looking to places like holland or maybe Ireland. Has anyone had any positive experiences importing? I would go veiw horses and get my own vetting done etc.
Or does anyone have any contacts etc??

I've used an agent in Ireland to source event horse - it's been very easy, he picks you up from airport, drives you around, arranges vetting & transportation.
For 10k you should have a 4yo delivered to Uk inclusive of all viewing, vetting and transportation. It will be green/just backed. As soon as someone has invested in production then your budget won't go far unles there is an 'if'

Could you PM me the name of your agent please? (Assuming you are happy with what you purchased.) Have previously used the Parkyns.

Yes me too please!

I think that's where I'm at with its, just accept something green with a good attitude then bring on myself .

My home-bred Shagya mare is for sale on H&H website. 12 clear rounds from 14 outings last year. She qualified for the National Championships in Fontainebleau. Four outings this year two clear rounds one at Amateur Grand Prix. Her price is 8K open to vet.

Her full brother jumped British Novice in the UK and also jumps in France, we shipped to and fro across the channel to Surrey - very easy. We are just 3 hours motorway from Dieppe. The Newhaven-Dieppe crossing is just 4 hours and very inexpensive
