Has anyone done this and how did you go about getting the right contacts. Did you get someone to set the trip for you or did you arrange it all yourself? If so how?

I've been looking for a young dressage horse for nearly a year now and there is a lot of over priced mediocre stuff in the uk but I'd rather pay that money abroad and get something a bit more special.

Does anyone have any experience of this. I'd be looking at taking a trip just after Christmas... Any advice or hints would be greatly appreciated.

Also in competing and training

What level of dressage are you hoping to reach if you are not already at the top level.
What bloodlines do you fancy?
VAT has been increased in Germany so the horses are more expensive that they were.
#What size horse are you looking for and what is the top limit you wish to pafy.

Contact the breeders associations. They will be able to put you in the right direction of reputable breeders and they also hold auctions quite frequently. Elite auctions for top class sporst horses and prospects (they are actually screened and not every horse can get in) and regular sports horse auctions with very decent all-round horses.

This is the Hanoverian association's English site.
