What documentaction do I obtain from the seller? Do they have V5's or some other documentation to effect?
It's an old trailer which I'm just going to chuck in a field for storage but I want to make sure it's not stolen etc!
Also, it's going on the back of a flat bed to move it to my field. It's unroadworthy, no mot, no insurance etc, is it legal to move it in that way?

TIA

Prepared to be corrected but as no-one else has answered thought I'd give you my two pence worth. I have a 25yr old trailer, it has no documents and does not need any mot type legal checks, or insurance to use it on a road. No docs to prove ownership. There was no way to check if it was stolen when I bought it that I know of.
I would think its like any other load on a flatbed, you just need to make sure it is safely secured.

OK thank you. I've tried a few Internet searches for the info and it's all so confusing!!

It should have a serial number on it if this is removed or been obliterated be very cautious why is it being sold for parts as I cannot think of anything useful on an old trailer to warrant selling one as such ! Make sure you get a receipt signed by the person selling it if they wont dont buy it as likely its not legit.
