Heya,

We are looking in to buying a trailer, would mainly be for my little 14.2 cob however there may be times when my Dad's 16.2 cob will need to go in it.

We have been looking at the Ifor Williams HB511 and the Pegasus/Wessex Olympian or Equestrian. Possibly the newer rice beauforts. Any other ones people would suggest looking at?

Can anyone recommend any dealers, preferably not too far from Wiltshire? Or any websites good for trailer shopping.

I think we are most probably looking for a nice, solid floor decent 2nd hand trailer.

We had a Bateson Ascot for years with the American doors instead of a ramp and we loved it. Would easily fit 16.2 in it and the integrated tack locker is very useful and doesnt get in the way. It was also very cool in the summer as it was white. I would definitely look into them though they are not as common as ifors so might be difficult finding a second hand one.

I am in West Wiltshire and found that going over the bridge to Chepstow Horseboxes (www.chepstowhorseboxes.co.uk) was quicker and about £400 cheaper for a new 2010 Bateson Deauville. It is a great trailer, tows well and the horses get a smooth journey.
Another really good dealer I went to was Ralph Bailey Trailers in Bridgewater. He was fantastic, had lots of different makes and models and was straight to the point about pro's and con's for each one. I think he had Ifor (old ones, he won't sale the new ones), Equitrek Trail Trekka, Wessex and Rice, I think. But he does second hand also so the stock will keep changing. Good luck :)
