i have phoned a few people who can take me to holland/belguim and introduce me to there contacts for a fee. has anyone ever done this and if so did it work out ok
Hi Captain. I've been over to Holland a few months ago to buy my young horse.
The best tip I can give is to actually meet an agent, who is based over there. It's really easy and they tend to know horses that are for sale whom haven't yet been advertised.
What sort of horse are you lookking for? Dressage, jumping, younstock, etc?? I have a wonderful contact who found me my young guy, and the service was great...
i LOVE the whole thing about it
like going over there
i had about 14 to choose from, all of exactly what i wanted
like i decided i wanted a 4yr old, not too inexperienced but not too far ahead, that had alot of potential and the guy found me 14 4yr olds to try
i went to neil jones. he was absolutly fantastic, and the horse i chose didnt work out so he swapped it for my second choice.
im going back out there in a few weeks just to ride some horses, im not looking to buy but i loved it over there so much.
The best place that I have bought my horse from recently was a place run by a guy called Nick Downs. he is such a nice man (based in Suffolk)
My horse was orignally from Latvia, would seriously give him a call, I had about 14 horses to choose from and he would of let me ride them all day if i wanted to, and he's so good with all the horses, they are all well tempered and have good backgrounds. You can have a look at some of the horses on www.team-downs.com. My horse is the one called Fonogramma in the Horses Sold section.
I couldn't praise him highly enough.
