Rang up to enquire about a few equestrian properties today, naively thinking there will be a limited market for these particularly given lockdown/covid etc, we have a good budget etc....shocked to be told that the one we liked the look off went under offer to a cash buyer within a week of going on!!! The agent told me everyone wants to get out of London now due to covid ☹️.... Looks like we will need to sell our place an go into rented so that we can be cash buyers if we want any chance.....

Good luck with your search. TBF, equestrian properties are always snapped up quickly, unless you're in the high end of the market after a lottery win.
When we were looking for a more modest property with a few acres and stables, they were gone before we even got to have a viewing. The only ones that weren't sold quickly, tended to be very isolated and one country roads too dangerous to ride on.

Snap. We are looking in South Devon/Cornwall area and everything is selling madly fast.
There’s not even much coming onto the market at the moment which is part of the problem.

We sold our house and went into rented for 9 months in order to buy our current equestrian home, particularly because we didn't have a HUGE budget so needed to be able to snap something up

Same here in West Wales, smallholdings such as mine are going at a rate of knots, everyone wants to live in the country it seems

I think I was very lucky to get mine just before lockdown, we complete in a few days, I suspect the right type of property will sell very quickly and prices in the mid range will hold up well.

I have an equestrian property for sale - 4 bed fully modernised farmhouse, 14 acres, woodland, two large sheds, beautiful stables and arena with mirrors and floodlights. Loads of RC and affiliated competitions within 45 mins, and a very horsey area. Only 30 mins from the airport and 40mins to city centre.

Oh wow!!! Can't believe how much loveliness is available for similar ££ as a rabbit hutch in London.

I'll do you a straight swap (under valuing my 30s 3 bed semi, 15 mins from mainline station which is under 30 mins from Waterloo, by at least 30k)
Whsts the hacking like?

We're looking in Lincolnshire and im quite surprised at how many mid range houses are shifting at the min!

The first time buyer market seems at a standstill here i Hannah198 - could you move it here please?!

The covid impact on the housing market is going to be long lived and have perhaps unexpected consequences. The value of a garden / outside space will have increased hugely as people have been unable to get out anywhere else.

Older people will NOT want to be in care homes so they will stay in too big houses for far longer than previously. I was working with a stairlift company and their demand has gone totally mad in the last 3 months as older people look to stay at home as long as humanly possible.

Specific to us I'd imagine lots of liveries who were shut out of their yards will want much more control in case this goes on and on / happens again.
