looking to buy another horse to hopefully event, thinking about spending 5000, looking for something 4-8 years old, 16h3 to 17h1, must be jumping over 1m and be working in an outline. not expecting anything amazing for my money just a youngster with potential. I am based in north east. Any advice where I can start looking would be greatfully appreciated - thanks

have you put this in comp riders? they might have suggestions. you could try helen bell, she gets nice event types in...

If you buy a 4yo then I think the criteria must be working in an outline and jumping 1m is a little steep.

I do not think at that age outline is an essential and would with some youngsters prefer long and low, gangly types in particular. I would also look at the jump not worry about how high the horse was currently be jumping.

I do not think your budget is unrealistic, for this time of year and this economic climate, would keep a daily vigile online and also h@h etc and keep asking, Even on h@h at the moment prices seem to have come down. Also check the stud websites.

good luck

Shame your not looking for something slightly older (say 10) as i have a lovely 16.3hh gelding for sale. - Where in the North East are you? Have you tried Park End Equestrian centre? The owner there does a lot of eventing and has young horses.
