Vet was out again to see my horse today and she is going to be semi retired which is horrid given she is only 11 but I would rather her still here in 10 years than losing her in a year or so.

I have been talking things through with my parents for the past month or so and they have agreed to buy me another horse. We have a fairly decent budget and I am looking for something to event hopefully to go to intermediate level. Preferably between 4-6. Is there anybody people would recommend to contact? Don't know if it would be easier to go through a recommended dealer or privately. I have never spent this money on a horse before so definately want to do things right!!

Vere Phillips, has some lovely youngsters, very talented but not cheap, as does Tim and Antonia Brown. They have a website of event horses for sale.

Hi,
Don't know where abouts you are but I would try exmoor eventing. They have some good horses at all levels and are very easy and honest to deal with. The advantage to going somewhere like this is that you can generally try a few at the same time and get some idea what your budget can get you.
I know dealers tended to have bad reputations but I think those dealing with high end comp horses tend to be very careful about matching horses to riders as they rely on word of mouth recommendations.
Good luck!

Sports Horses International at Gatwick. Steve Lamb. 3 months warranty on your horse. Well bred dutch, belgian, german warmbloods. Would recommend them. German warmblood in siggi by Lansing.

I have a lovely 4 year old mare I am selling for the owner. Very well bred for eventing and great temperament for serious amateur. She is by Mill Law out advanced event mare so should easily go intermediate. Have a look at www.sweventing.com on the for sale page.

Richard Sheane has been recommended to me. He is based in Ireland and if you tell him what you are looking for and bduget he will put together a few horses that you can see. he will pick you up from the airport in Dublin.

He has a website - if you google Richard Sheane.

Another vote for Vere, I love my mare and it would be my 1st stop for another 1!!! PM for his number if you havent got it yet.

If any of the horess have an eventing history I would find out their registered names and check their event history.

good luck in your quest

hi,
dont wanna put a dampener on things but i'd steer clear of exmoor eventing, i've known them to sell some dodgy horses which dont do wot they say they do!!!
