A lot of excellent advice already given so I won't repeat what others have already said. The only other thing I would bear in mind, I would expect his age to be taken into account with how much they are asking. I obviously don't want you to disclose on here as that is your business and we don't need to know. But have a check on a few sites to get an idea of average prices so you will have an idea if it is a reasonable and realistic asking price. Good luck and hope it all works out for you.

A very good point, and yes, I’m happy that the price being asked is sensible. I spend a lot of my spare time on Horse Quest and the like, and it seems appropriate.

I went and saw the horse yesterday and it went really well. He’s got excellent manners, very polite and my sort of horse. He was lovely to ride (took him on a short hack and spent about 10 mins schooling in an open field) and has done a bit of everything.

Unfortunately my instructor couldn’t come with me, so I’ve sent her some videos and I’m now nervously awaiting her verdict. I felt very comfortable with him, so I hope she thinks he looks ok, because I’m very keen to get him vetted. Although that’s just the next nerve racking step!

Fingers crossed your instructor likes the look of him in the videos and you can get the vetting booked in 🤞 Exciting!!

My instructor has seen the videos and thought he looked great, so the vetting is booked for Monday. I’ll definitely speak to his owner about his veterinary history too.

I’m trying not to get too excited, but mostly failing! I’m busy trying to explain horses to my husband, who knows nothing about them (yet!).
