Buying and transporting horses from Ireland

Just wondered if anyone had any experience of going over to Ireland with a lorry and buying some horses and bringing them back? I'm just looking in to it at the moment so any information from ferry costs to the sales to go to is welcome! Me and my friend buy and sell a few horses so familiar with sales etc etc. Had a few horses from Ireland in the past but never actually been over and done it ourselves. Any information or experiences people have had welcome.

It costs about £250 to get a horse over from Ireland by transporter. It is quite expensive to take a lorry over if you add up diesel, ferry both ways, tolls etc.It would depend how may you were thinking of buying to see if it was really cheaper doing it yourself.
