So after looking for a horse for a couple of moths I finally found the prefect guy. Really better than I thought I would get as I'm quite picky ! So arranged a price and got transport included. the day the woman had arranged to bring him up she cancelled that morning ( I had taken a day of work ). So she said the person who was going to bring him up (uncle) could no longer do it.
That was fine, I payed for a transport company to go pick him up the following week, she assured me there would be no problems loading him.... 2 hours later the transport company had to give up as there was other horses waiting. So I had payed for a lovely oakly box and still no horse....
Then she said since I had organised the box she would now find someone to bring him up, this has been about 3 weeks now an still nothing.
So now I have rugs, feed, tack and a reserved livery space with no horse. I feel like one of those women who have phantom pregnancies :o
I give up loooking for a horse, I know it doesn't go smoothly but I gave her the asking price and didn't mess her around :(

I know it can be a torturous and heart breaking process. But IMO I would be very put off a horse that professionals couldnt even manage to load after quite a long try.

Good luck :)

I agree about the loading issues. Professional transporters are usually very good at loading even difficult horses, so it would put me off too. Now that she's got your money, I would be very firm in telling her to get the horse delivered to u as soon as possible!

I know it's frustrating but silver linings and all that... do you really want a horse that even a professional transporter can't load?! I wouldn't!

There are loads of horses out there, keep looking. I looked at quite a few when I was buying earlier this year, travelled a fair way to see some and eventually ended up buying one that was half an hour away from someone I've known for years! Put the word out that you're looking, talk to all of the pro's you know... your farrier, saddler, instructors, everyone. Mine came from my saddle fitter!

Have you paid for the horse? I would be looking to get my money back now and continue looking (if you can get it back).

Sorry I don't say ! Money did change hands, I had the passport and everything but when he wouldn't load I did get it back ! I would of been riding the horse back if she still had the money ! Haha.
I did think that too about the loading bit however the guy that was loading him did say he was a lovely horse and there was no naughtiness just inexperience. Living in Scotland I feel at a bit of a disadvantage, a lot less to chose from. I think I may just 'browse' now. Although now I have had my heart set on this one I'm sure nothing will match him :/
