My grey horse is an ex-steeplechaser though I didn't know it when I bought him to event. I think a great deal of him and doing my homework on his breeding have found a couple of full brothers and sisters who have all gone into National Hunt training but last raced in 2007 (none of them were very good). For those who are interested, he's by Bold Fox out of Annie Bee (dam sire, Rusticaro).

I assume they are headed to the sales but which sales sell ex-National Hunt racehorses?

I'd like to keep an eye out to see if they turn up as I'd be very interested in acquiring one, based on my experiences with this one. But not sure where to look - any thoughts?

I thought Ascot, Doncastor or poss Brightwells too. Maybe try contacting the owner/trainer. O Brennan has come up as the trainer of a few of them. They may never make it to the sales, but that way you may get a shot at getting them anyway.

If you go onto the Racing Post website (you have to create a log in but no fee) then plug in your horse's name in top right box you can then see all his history. There is then a tab for 'relatives'. Click on their name and then 'Sales' tab and if they have gone through a public auction the results will be there with the name of the purchaser. Alternatively just phone the trainer!
