Right I am reluctantly posting this as it annoys me seeing horses wearing them when they don't need them but I am fed up with saddle going all over the place. My horse is a traditional hunter type with plenty of bone and traditional markings so I always turn him out with plain brown tack (admittedly his jump saddle looks a smidge silly) so I want to find the least blinging reasonably priced breastplate.

Also before I part with a stupid about of money will he still need other tack to stop his saddle slipping backwards or should a correctly fitting five point fix all our saddle slipping problems?

And his saddle does fit him correctly honest, had five saddles so far this year trying to find the right one!

So yes please recommend relatively plain reasonably priced breastplate :D

I have a similar problem with my Irish sports horse mare- the saddle ends up slipping.
So I bought a jeffries 5 point and the problem was instantly solved!
Jeffries is beautiful soft leather :-)

Please dont shoot me down but I have never had a correctly fitting saddle slip . I have been wondering abour these five point breastplates because |I have just lent one I inherited ,to a young eventer frend. I cannot see the point of them. By the time they would come into effect ,the saddle would have slipped so badly that I would be thinking of baleing out.So please enlighten me .
