I bought my PRE from her about 2.5 years ago. He was a newly gelded 5 year old who had just come over from Barcelona. Had no problems with dealing with her.
Do you have any experience with Iberian horses? Both PRE's and lusitanos are kept very differently in Spain/Portugal. So my boy had no idea about fields and eating grass. They are true hot bloods and you need to keep their minds really active, as well as their bodies
Also, riding is still mainly a male pastime over there so I found that my boy was incredibly strong and we needed to take him right back to basics. I couldn't have done it without my trainer, Marcia Wakeman, who is amazing.
That said I have the most stunning looking horse, who is a great hack, has done sponsored rides, loves tractors, jumps over 1 metre and whose flatwork is really coming on. He's still only 7 and has an amazing personality. What more can I say, I wouldn't go back to a warmblood and now also have a partbred luso out of my warmblood mare.

Hi - as per first reply - horses from Spain are differently ridden than those bred and broken over here and there management is different.
My friend went with Tarma Rowles some three years ago and bought a 3 year old unbroken colt - luckily she rides at Prix st Georges level and has trained all her life. her horse has proved brilliant, and she has kept him as a stallion.
however, my two (one owned and one loaned) came from a 'dealer' in east anglia, and although they are delightful chaps, they are not the easiest rides, so beware!

I've bought two from Antonio Corales, i.e. direct from the trainer. He trains all his horses to be light and sensitive (in his view, us English have to wear gloves because our horses pull, his never would!) and I'd highly recommend him. If a woman is buying, he makes sure that a woman also rides and hacks the horse before it comes over.
Our second horse we bought as an unbacked 3yo last May and we've left him with Antonio for training. I asked him to be trained for English dressage - i.e. able to work long and low, extend etc. - and Antonio has done a great job. His horses are certainly cheaper than a lot you see online, plus you can tailor the training and have a few weekends in Andalucia to see your horse and have some lessons
I was there two weeks ago and he has some gorgeous horses in at the moment, I always have to stop my OH buying another one!
