i wanted to know where people bought their horses from? dealers or private sales and where they saw the horse advertised?

Bought my mare from the Welsh Pony & Cob Sales last October, her description wasn't what i was looking for as she was only 4 but she's cracking and it's working out well.

i got 1 of mine from private seller, 2 from dealers (1 of which was falsely advertised) and my newest edition from the sales, as i felt sorry for him.

where ever there's a nice one for sale, but be carefull with private sellers coz they can be the worst for telling porkies.

I saw George advertised on horsemart with a private seller - George turned out to be a diamond and the love of my life (don't tell OH!!) and the seller who I'd never met is now my instructor!

Mine was advertised on Coloured Contacts, and I brought him from a small producer/breeder. She wasnt really a dealer as doesnt sell enough of them!!

Private sale, from my instructor at the time. Current one is only one loan but came to be through a friend of a friend.

Bought mine from Andoversford Horse fair after she failed to sell in the ring. Best horse I've ever had & she's mine for life now

Bought 1 years ago from a private seller advertised in h&h kept in contact and every since then has been throught the same person - not hers but horses she has known of. Or the sales in Ireland.

The chestnut in sig I bought through Horse and Hound.

I bought mine through a private advert in H&H. She was a lovely owner going to Uni and I knew that it was a genuinely sad sale. We are still in touch and my horse is a real sweetie and everything I'd hoped. I still had lots of lessons to improve his schooling though.

dealer in thetford and she was totally mis sold! i wanted to sue but hubbie wouldnt let me. having to put the graft in big time and shes coming right at last

Most of my past horses just appeared! There would be a discussion that perhaps I needed to move on and in a couple of weeks one would just arrive. Sometimes before I'd sold the last one. YO would have made a deal with the seller that they would pay for my old horse until it was sold. Usually the old horses were nicer and easier to sell than the replacements at first. Last horse though I rescued from a riding school.
About to start looking again so we'll see

I think they are the ones we have 'bought' as it were. Though we have since sold Alfie on.
