I just want some every day jods... i go up the yard every day and am wearing my jodpurs down so quickly, it isnt worth spending alot of money on jodpurs because they just dont last me.

Ive been to shops like speedgate who sell jodpurs at such a high price it isnt worth it but when i order them online a little cheaper they seem to fit me width wise but are hugely too long, they go past my toes at the bottom and tops go over my ribs... its getting on my nerves and its not cheap to keep sending them back... the last pair that i bought and sent back were a ladies 24 which as i just said were a great fit but way too long and high.

Can anyone please give me some advice on where or what brand will fit a short person that doesnt want to spend too much money

Don't know about your skinny size! But i have some gorringe jodphurs that have lasted me literally years, they are fabulous (and i work with horses full time so they get worn a lot). They are made from a stretchy yet strong fabric that doesn't rip easilly like some jods (i find some kinds always break in the crutch after a few months!), but these are really good. As they are stretchy they are comfy and you can move around lots in them, unlike some jods which are stretchy. Anyway I'm a 28 inch waist and 5'4 and they fit me well so hopefully they would do for you. Wish I knew the exact name but don't, they are the plain coloured non seated ones though.

Ps: They are about £30 and certainly worth it.

Bought 2 pairs for £25 in Scats this week (loveson ones)

Fairly long on me but I'm only 5ft3 and can get away with them.

Nice colours too - in between too bright and to dull.

Agree with this, they are called Shires Saddlehugger Hipster Jodhpurs. Here they are on ebay (Item number: 280267448093).

Was going to post a link but it's a bit long and will break the board, put the item number in the search bar.

They do get shorter when you wash them so no danger of being too long! They look really good, are a cotton mix, and if you have a pierced belly button they don't rub.

Tesco jods - cheap!

I have a pair of Tesco ones as well. Very cheap. I'm short so I got kids' size (age 11-12) and the length is OK (I'm 1m57 - not sure what that is in feet!).

I think on the whole kids sizes are smaller. My sister wears a 24 in adults but a 28 in childs. The leg length usually corresponds with the waist size in kids.

If im a 24 waist in adult sizes would i be an different in children sizes? Would i need a larger size in children?

I just checked another pair I have and it's a 26. So you should definitely fit the 11-12 year size and probably the smaller one. They are quite stretchy on the waist and low. And cheaper than the adult sizes!

I'm only 5'2" & I've virtually given up on jods & wear breeches which usually come to the right length for jods on me! I'm lucky to be able to get to the Mountain Horse clearance each December & try to stock up there but have also had luck on Equestrian Clearance getting good quality at a good price.

I'm 5ft 2 as well, and I generally buy breeches too. Bit fatter than you I take a 26/28 depending on the make, but I have some pikeurs that have lasted about 8 years and are still fine, and another pair the same just dark beige for hunting that have lasted 3 1/2 seasons now, wore them the other day and they still look as good as new.

I had a pair of Horka ones from the little saddlers in colchester and I lived and died in those for 6 years (literally off, in the wash, dried and on again because I loved them) They did die in the end but I didn't half get the wear out of them.
