buying lupins

Peas are not really used as a horse feed, some very old fashioned show people feed field beans, but to be honest there are so many better feeds and more economical, it would not be considered mainstream, in fact it is eccentric! Polished dry peas are racing pigeon feed.
Micronised linseed and copra are well known straights. M/linseed is as close as you will get.

yeah iv never fed peas. im feeding conditioning nuts and feed atm. but once my horses are up and going i put them onto a complete race mix.was just curious if it was possible to get lupin here. the love them in aus the horses are fit and build like tanks

Lupin seeds are high protein, so you need to look at feeds such as peas or linseed.

Depends on what you want to achieve. High protein goes hand in hand with hard work, while high carbs increase weight and energy.
