I have been looking on Equestrian Clearance for new boots that I will be buying at Christmas. The thing is it's hard for me to find long boots that fit properly since I have wide calves. Currently I wear rubber jodhpur boots and synthetic half chaps which are comfortable, but the chaps fall down occasionally and they are a bit cheap looking.
I just started a new riding school and we're doing a lot more jumping and I'll need sturdy and comfortable boots to ride and jump in. :)

I was thinking of getting...
Mark Todd Milestone Tall Leather Riding Boots

But also came across K*TY Lake and Oracle Country Boots which look nice, but not sure if they're cheap and will be ruined within a few lessons? Keep in mind if I'm helping on the yard I will change boots to stop my new ones from getting dirty and ruined but still, I want them to be sturdy.
Sorry if I appear fussy, I just don't want to buy another pair of boots that don't fit properly or get ruined quickly because I can't waste any more money.

Thanks guys I appreciate any help and sorry again if I appear fussy... :o
Also if you know of any other affordable boots please let me know it would be of great help!

Not sure if this will be very helpful, as I've not had the long boots of either brand BUT I've had jod boots from both and frankly neither of them were up to much.

Both brands looked worn and tired very early on with little wear, despite being well cared for. Perhaps other people will have better opinions of their (long) boots, but my experiences with their short boots mean I wouldn't take a punt on their long boots.

Yeah, I have heard a lot of mixed reviews especially with the K*TY boots, a lot of people say they are cheap and wear out quickly, but others have said they are actually pretty good. I don't know whether or not I'm going to risk it... hmmm...

I had the mark todd milestone boots and I would not recommend them. I only had them for 8 months but they wore really quickly and the zips broke which I wasn't too impressed about as I spent £120 on them! I really look after my boots and keep trees in them to help them keep their shape but whenever I rode in them they would slip down my leg until my foot was almost out of the foot part. My toggi calgary boots where much better but the zips also went on them after about a year.

If you are wearing the boots every day I wouldn't expect them to last longer than a year....
However for riding boots I'd go for a short boot.....I have pancake feet and found that tread step Ireland do some beautifully soft leather ones very reasonably priced!! And then get a decent set of leather chaps...all chaps and long boot fall.....it's expected. However a good leather will last longer and always polish up smart!
