Buying new boots

Hi! so i recently outgrew my Horseware ireland long boots and my dublin country boots are too wide for me, leaving me with no grip in the saddle and blisters on my heel from walking around the yard. So, i need help wether to go for another pair of long boots (Robinsons' has ones for 30 quid) or a pair of jodhpur boots (had a pair a few years ago and loved them!). What brands do you all have which are affordable and would you reccomend long or short boots?

I always prefer a long boot, but it's personal preference I guess! I tend to stick to Toggi Calgaries now, but that's just because I like them and they fit me well and are comfy. Sounds like a good excuse to visit a good tack shop and try some!
