Following on from the unfortunate lady who spent £20K on a horse with sarcoids, had a chat with very knowledgeable lady from Trading Standards today.

As I suspected it applies to everybody, private sellers included and has massive implications for those buying or selling.

Basically if you fail to disclose a material fact about a horse ie something that would make it worth less money like a medical condition or vice then you comit an offence under this act.

All I can say is hurrah for those of us who are buying and perhaps this will bring an end to being told a load of rubbish and paying through the nose for horses which for one reason or another, somebody doesn't want.
