My friend that has been helping me with my horses over the last few years has decided she is ready to loan / buy her own, grazing sorted etc

Loaning - say no more............just about given up!!

Budget is around £400 atm, if we were to go to the sales ( sorry not been for years )............could we pick up a 2yr+ Welsh D type??

Would need to mature 14:2hh ish and no more than 15:3hh

Thanks in advance..................

X - sorry kept post short..............she is an adult and experienced ( she competes my horses ) - reason for the youngster is she would continue riding mine whilst bonding with the youngster ( maybe a bit of showing etc ) - but budget is tight for buying.

honestly, if she can still ride yours I'd wait and save and buy something half decent further down the line.

if budget is tight initially, wheres the money for tack, breaking, feed, vet, farrier, teeth etc

If shes prepared to wait for the later sales from sept/october you can pick horses up for that.

To be honest there are many out there that people cant give away.

Where abouts is your friend (up north has the bargins)

Yes, I have seen two go through the sales in the last two weeks. One went for 280 but was a 4 year old. It's risky though as not many have warranty - buyer beware!

If you have a look on York livestock centre (York sales) website you can see what sold for how much at previous sales. Will give you an idea of what you could get xx
