I have seen a 3 year old Connemara that I really like in Ireland/Galway. This is my first time buying from abroad, is there anything in particular I should look out for? Pony is unbroken but had basic handling and seller seems reputable. Also can anyone recommend any vets for vetting? Horse is located just south of Galway.

If anyone would like to give me an opinion of said horse, I can private message some pictures 😁

I’ve just purchased from Ireland but bought a yearling so just looked and parents and current confirmation and have taken the risk. He’s been worth it so far personality to die for and moves for fun !

However, just an option there is professional companies over there that view horses for you do all the trot ups and send you endless images/videos for about £200-300 I almost booked before deciding that I wanted to see him with my own eyes. They will also arrange and complete vetting for you.

May be worth while if you’re not able to get over there !

Thank you for the recommendation. I have seen pony live now after face timing and I will get him vetted of course.

As I have never bought from Ireland before, are prices negotiable there?

All prices are up for negotiating 😁 dont forget to factor in the exchange rate. Also, assuming all goes well, a lot of banks take 24 hours to do a bank transfer.
