Is it possible?

Possibly sounds crazy.. but I’ve had such bad luck looking in the UK and Goresbridge have some nice unbroken 3yos due to go through soon..

Seen you have 30 mins after winning the lot to arrange a re vet if wanted.

Anyone done it before? Is there transport companies at the sales willing to deliver to the UK?

I've been in person and the horses while mostly accurately described, come with a very limited description. It takes an experienced eye in reading catalogues to notice what they're not saying. If soemthing is not mentioned, you've got no comeback..(apart from vices obviously) Heights are not always accurate and the pre sale vettings are more cursory than post purchase ones. It's great fun to go, a real eye opener to se so many horses in one place. It's fantastic for getting your eye in. Remember they'll only put flattering photos and vids 😁
Not all horses listed jn the catalogues actually turn up (and its usually the ons you've earmarked that aren't there!)
Also remember to read the tiny small print - terms and conditions of the auction. The auction house gives you a week to returning not as described but if you're shipping to England, that gives you a very small window of time to test the horse before your time is up

Don't forget the buyer's premium and VAT which are added to what you actually pay.

If you want to buy from the comfort of yir armchair, I'd suggest you get someone like Daisy Trayford to go and look on your behalf. It's not a huge outlay to have someone extremely knowledgeable and experienced to check a horse over for you.

There are always transporters there - listed in the catalogue. I'd use Equitrans if I had the choice.

Ditto with Daisy Trayford. Shes excellent.

Be wary of the descriptions. I liked the sound of one horse, was expecting an ISH type. Turned out to be a cob wide as it was high.

Though if they do videos online first this would help cut out this issue.

Don't do it! We went to Goresbridge 2 years ago having carefully looked at the online catalogue and available videos/vets reports etc. Had 3 on our list (we had a fairly healthy budget), but on inspection at the sale none of them came anywhere near what we wanted. We actually bought a lovely 3yo who we hadn't looked at twice in the catalogue, he is gorgeous - such a laid back boy (but bigger than we were really looking for) - we are still in touch with the vendor.
We flew over to Dublin on an early morning flight, having booked a hire car at the airport and drove to the sale, bought the horse and arranged transport for him to UK (several companies at the sale), and flew back that evening. Food at the sale is great value and REALLY good.

I would also not recommend it. A lot of cast offs get sent to Goresbridge (ie: those with dodgy xrays). Often the advert will say 'good vetting and xrays available'. The vettings also can not be relied on as being accurate. That being said, the odd diamond in the rough can be found but it's pot luck and you won't really know until you get them home.

I agree, I would never bring my horse to Gores! Unless it was the Go For Gold sales.
