Hi I am thinking of buyin id filly unseen and was wondering best way to pay- seller says by cheque but must clear before horse leaves but obviously I want to protect myslf as don't want to lose money!

I was also wondering if anyone was near castlewelan or knew people in area (don't want to pst sellers name on here but could pm it)

The seller wont accept a bank transfer? Could try paypal maybe but I think the person receiving money looses out.

The moment they receive a cheque, you should request for an invoice acknowledging the cheque has been received.

Im about 40mins from Castlewellan, but Rowreach may be closer to castlewellan.

There is one person but cant remember the name of them on here

Pm me the name of the person you are buying off - I may know them :)

Why are you buying unseen?? I live thirty mins away from castlewellan. I would recommend you to go and see the horse!

will pm you?

missparis- the seller says I can have bank details - how does bank transfer work?

It's proof of funds have been transferred to the seller's account. I would state on the description that this is for the Purchase of horses name. I would demand an immediate invoice or at least have something in writing.

Have you had the filly vetted? Maybe get a HHO Forum member to check out the filly first?

You could look on the ID of Irelands website, if they are registered breeders there may have some info or alternatively look on ID website GB lots of good IDs for sale in this country, always dodgy buying unseen, or go to the ID sales in IRE, I have been and there are some good horses.

I have bought many horses unseen as well as sold. Just get the sellers bank details, go to the branch where their account is held, and pay the cash in over the counter. You will get a receipt and the funds are ready immediately. JUST GO FOR IT!
