Buying your first horse.....

Please help me! Ive been looking on various websites H&H, Horsemart, Horse Quest etc etc for months (found one that was perfect but too late) and just can't find what im looking for (if it exists!) I would class myself as a confident novice and looking to spend max £3k. It would be my first horse so would want something sane (no tb's) to mainly school, jump, hack etc (would love to go hunting but think that might be asking a bit much!)

Can anyone find anything?

oh and im 5'11 with v long legs so that doesnt help so 16hh+

^^ is slightly wrong, I bought my first 'proper' horse from a dealer and he was amazing, exactly what it said on the tin. But then I went in with my eyes wide open..
 
Thanks for those...love the look of all of them...i am wary of buying from a dealer and something too young. Am i being too picky? Fell daunted by the whole thing. Is word of mouth best for your first?
 
Word of mouth is ideal, providing you know and trust the person telling.

I bought my first horse from a dealer, he was as described and absolutely brilliant, jumped, xc'ed,hacked out alone etc he was superb. You just should try and take a knowledgeable person with you, not fall for a sob story and maybe even ask on here for good dealers?
