Little Lad
He enjoyed a walk around the school a few weeks ago with D1 on board. First time in over a year and he was totally chilled :D. He likes to be involved :D.

Little Cob
His action is much better since the Bowen lady came to see him :D. Once the snow has gone, D1 is allowed to get on for a few gentle strolls about the school, see what he thinks to it all :D. He gets very jealous when D1 does things with the others! Alternating between lunging at them and ignoring them :rolleyes:. D1 plays in the school with him and it's very funny to watch :D. I'll try and remember to get it on video. He's growing his coat beautifully, though his mane is not yet lying down, so looks funny :D.

Grey Mare
She's settling in well :D. D1 loves her and can't wait 'till they can get working properly! She forgot a girth the other day, so rode bareback, which was very (very!) funny lol.

MrsM can I ask a silly question?

Those rope halters how do they work? And are they easy to use? Have never used them before so have no idea about them. Can you tie up with them?

Sorry your one of the few people I have seen use them xx

Ps I too want to steal the grey mare

Grey Mare is very sweet - and very, um, special :D :D :D

Rope halter is good :D. Dizz and GM can be a bit opinionated, but the pressure halter, used sensibly, gets their attention and they walk along nicely :D.

We tie up in them, for short periods. Never, ever the horses in them though

Hmmm I wonder if it will help Samba (havent thought about one until now), she has a really annoying habit of stopping dead when leading, if you change direction she is fine and carries on. In the dually she sometimes reverses with the pressure. Teeth fine and back was fine when I got her but getting checked again when her saddle is fitted at christmas. What do you think? Sorry have completed hi Jacked your thread PM me if you like.

Is fine :D

There's no pressure when walking forwards, so long as you're walking next to the horse :). Ours can be prats - if you use the halter properly then they are reasonably good; if you don't use it properly then they let you know!

MrsW - she does that look well :D

Lol, I wouldn't want to get between D1 and Grey Mare :D. Horse already looks for her and follows her around. They're a daft pair :D

Little Lad is retired :D. He gets stressed being ridden (other than D1 having a gentle pootle round, I wouldn't let anyone else on), but he's good for cuddles :D

Oi,MrsM!
You've got our horses!
Actually ours are the same colours in different heights from yours but they still amazingly similar in their markings.

Toffee44, we too use rope halters. We use simple cow halters, obtainable from most farm supplies shops. IMO they are better than dually etc as they are thicker. I've led really difficult horses in them in the past and find that you really do have control.

Such a lovely bunch. Grey mare is pretty, and looks good fun :)

Can't believe how different Dizz looks, she's a different horse to last year. And even her face looks more grown up. You've done a fab job with her :D

I don't think I've ever seen a picture of little lad. He's lovely. Oh and I like Grey Mare's browband too. Where do I get one ?

They all look very happy together. What a nice herd you have.
