BYEH 5 Year Old Advice please

Thinking about entering my 5 year in a BYEH qualifier, can someone give me some advice on what to expect?

I know the jumping is about 1.05 and they do a small dressage test, anything else I need know??

I don't expect to get anywhere, which probably isn't the right attitude! But I think it will be good experience for him.

Also he has a splint on his back leg from a kick, is that a complete no-no?

As for the splint, the conformation judge won't touch your horse so unless it's huge and obvious, it shouldn't make much difference.
