Well I disagree with you Sunny Ways, sorry. My horse has had a kissing spine op and has always had trouble with saddles going to the right on him. I have now got an Isabell Werth Dressage saddle with Cair and it is the best saddle that i have ever had for him. It may feel hard to the touch but so would the flocking be once you are sat in it. The air moves with the horse, flocking doesnt.
I have a Bates Innova saddle with Cair and you can actually take it apart and insert panels to adjust the balance of it. I am really pleased with mine.
I think the answer lies with the horse. My advice is to get the saddler out to see what they think is best. I used a cair saddle & things have been great but because they are universal in fitting it didn't fit correctly on the withers as a result I've just had a custom saddle built...horses for courses I guess
