Cairn Terrier loosing hair

Hi

I have a 7 year old cairn terrier who has been on steroids for the past 3 years to help his stop chewing his toes. However recently he has started devwloping bald patches and these are getting worse. Vet took him off steroids and put him on atopica but these made him really sick and diarroheah. He has Malden shampoo that he gets bathed in and we have also tried viacutin but nothing working. My worry now is he will start chewing his toes and feet again and his hair is going to keep coming out. It actually comes out in patches. Leaving marks ona coat as if he has been shaved. If anyone can help would be really grateful please

He was allergy tested about 3 years ago and result was allergic to dust. His diet is a nightmare, we have one dog who eats natures choice food, whereas the Cairn only eats fresh meat - between chicken, mince and steak.

Have tried everything with him, and no joy
