I've been recommended to try this with my horses and a local agricultural store stocks it in 25kg for farmers that use it particularly in the spring - is this the same stuff and can I feed it to my horses?

Also - I've heard that it takes longer to get into the system than magnesium oxide and so was wondering whether I should start my horse on the magnesium oxide and then switch to the cheaper Cal Mag once it's in their systems?

Any thoughts?! Thanks

Hi yes it is the same stuff, but not as good quality as the magnesium oxide which is better absorbed by the horse.
It is the same stuff in a lot of calmers including MAgic.
To be honest you are better feeding the MagOx as the Calcined Mag is cheaper, but as it isnt as easily absorbed it will pass out and end up on the muckheap!
I used the Equine Americas Magnitude, last 6 months in a tub so easily stored and cost about £18.

You can buy Mag Ox on Ebay. 3.6kg will cost you £38 including p+p and last one horse a year at 10g per day - they do a 7.2kg if you need bigger quantities.

I've just been looking to buy some myself
