Call Out Fees - How Much Do You Pay?

My vet charges £52.13 during the daytime and £84.00

for out of hours. They are 5 miles away.

About £40 i think! Daylight robbery if you ask me! But then again you could always look at it in another way, like if it takes a vet fifteen minutes to reach a yard and fifteen minutes back to the vets, then thats half an hour of time they could have used treating animals, just think of how many booster shots they could have given in the period of half an hour, they only take about two minutes to give!

Mine's about £25 i think. And they're 13 miles away.

Not sure out of hours, but i think it's not quite double.

Mine is about £32, they are about 10 miles away. Don't want to know what out of hours is!

mine is around £40 and they are about 10 miles away via the back roads. i had to take my dog down to the small animal vets at midnight not so long ago and that was either £60 or £80. not sure what out of hours for the horse would be

Ours charges £18/£20. Certainly, no more than £20 for weekdays. Not too sure about weekends... And I thought that was expensive but not compared to some of yours! Bloody hell, I think Id be taking the horse to them if possible!

Blimey I can't believe what some people pay! I thought £40 for 20 miles was verging on expensive (although worth paying for them, I'd rather have a huge call-out fee than go to my local vets).

My vets charge £25 call out and come approx 15 miles.

About £25 quid during the day. Then again they are only 2 miles away and have their own equine clinic so we just hack down if it's something routine.

Ours charge £24 and we're on Dartmoor, so they often have to travel quite a way.

Blimey... about £20 inc VAT and the poor man has to travel about 10 miles through lanes, will take him about 30 minutes to get to me.

That's a lot of money. My vets (a large exclusively equine practice/hospital and about 15 miles away) charge £33.50 + VAT (£39.36)for a "normal" call-out. I don't know (thank goodness) what an out of hours would be.
