Call to stop Multiple Hot Branding - BBC footage

Ignoring the fact that most of the welfare agencies gave their opinions as to the banning of hot branding in Scotland only, where hot branding was never routinely carried out anyway. It is unwise to extrapolate this to suit your own agenda.
Why do you think this would invalidate the welfare agencies' views on branding?

No they did not just look at the ponies in Scotland. There was a scientific study which looked at cortisol levels as one of the methods of determining the distress experienced by the Exmoor ponies at Hot Branding time. cortisol levels were significantly raised in ponies Hot Branded. In addition evidence was gained from a variety of keepers of extensively grazed herds of ponies in England to act as a comparison. Fell ponies grazed by a variety of farmers on the Cumbrian Fell DO NOT Hot Brand. They have been keeping herds of Fell Ponies for hundreds of years on the open commonland. So why the cruelty Why the inhumanity shown to these Exmoor and other Equines. Time to STOP Hot Branding.

Please remember the SPCA and the RSPCA are two different organisations in two different countries with two different legal systems. Scotland and England necessarily have different animal welfare organisations who have to comply with either Scottish or English Law. the scientific report on Hot Branding conducted by a well known academic was commissioned by the RSPCA England.

Were the organisations that took part in the Scottish consultation process (including the British Horse Society, the British Equine Veterinary Association, the British Veterinary Association, and World Horse Welfare) being emotive?
