Proudly introducing a nekked benny... first ever clip and he was so very good:D:D We sedated with sedaline for the whole thing, and twitched for the face and legs... just to be on the safe side... The pics aren't fabulous as I took them in the stable and he was still a bit tired, so he isn't standing straight and his dingle dangles flopping out and his ears are not exactly perky. Its blowing a gale outside but as soon as the wind dies down and there is a slightly nicer day I will get some pics of him standing nicely and also a couple under saddle. His ears look huge  but he really is very handsome in his birthday suit and Im incredibly proud of him, my handsome baby.

Ben... half the horse he was yesterday:D:D:D:D

Im also incredibly impressed with Aunty G's clipping skills... NO LINES!! and I love the colour of him under all that fluff!

:D:D thank you... he is pretty dandy isn't he... its nice to see under the fluff, I am looking to take him off fast fibre and onto a dengie forage for the winter, but didn't want to until I actually saw how he was holding his weight... Im pretty chuffed at how he is looking weight wise.

oh and excuse the mucky stable... he had been in all night, its now nice and clean again and I can't wait till tomorrow... Im getting a ton of wood pellets :D

Very nice, he's looking very smart. Aunty G did a fab job!
she did! I sold my clippers last year, and at the moment, I am happier paying her to clip him and holding him... 2 people make the job so much easier! I may buy some more at a later date as I suspect he will be a 3 clips a year chap, and it will soon save me money to do it myself, but certainly this year im paying someone else to do it :D

Gosh, he was a woolly pully wasn't he?

He looks really smart.
ha ha! yes he was, you should have seen poor tamar last week massaging him... all the scurf... urgh! And then today, you could have made a bed for him out of the clippings:eek::eek::eek: I know we are not up to a level where we need a full clip, and the dear chap doesn't even sweat up, but I detest winter coats, scurf and fluff, so it all comes off and they get wrapped up warm... going to give him a hot sponge with a bit of dettol tomorrow to finish the job properly... but yes, its one hell of an improvement! :D

He looks lovely :)

Thank you :D

Ah, who cares - he'll be kept toasty warm with rugs.

Oh queenbee I just love him, what a cracker!! (not that i'm biased, don't like a strapping coloured horse in the slightest usually ;))

Just beautiful, very inspired to have Buds fully done, he's almost ready to be done again :)

He looks lovely QB :D

Its amazing how different they look isn't it?

Don't worry about the clipping and work. Mine has a Blnaket clip and is only hacked 3 times a week. But its a bugger to keep a coloured clean in the winter!!! ;)

Smart Ben!

And I agree - he's a lovely colour under all that fluff

Thank you for you're lovely comments.... budsmum... go for it :D LaurenBay, I have always fully clipped out all my horses, I just can't be bothered with fluff and fuss... I just explained why I did it in case someone came on here going OMG, why have you fully clipped him when he didn't need it... poor ben will be cold... its cruel, blah, blah, blah... ;) TBH Im surprised that no one has commented negatively about fully clipping him :D I suppose they are just all in awe of his super handsomeness now;):p:p

I now know what's on the top of my Christmas list ;)

lol, she got sold by his breeder this year, would love to see her, I saw her when she was about 18 months old, she was beautiful. His sire has now been cut, and his dam... I dread to think what happened to her... we found out she was bought by a chap in bristol who was jailed for serious neglect of his cattle, and extorting money out of people by making threats on their life :( I tried to find her... put messages on the local fb page with her name, description and the name of the man who bought her at the sales... never got a sausage... only saving grace is in the reports it only mentioned dead cattle... not horses.:(:( pray she is in a loving home she was a lovely girl. Ben, his sire and sister have all got very loving homes... his sire is in devon I think and his sister still in cornwall

Won't catch me criticising you for a full clip!. I do the same though mine does work 6 days a week. I am an old bag so stand firm on the line of "my horse, my money, my choice"!! and that goes for stabling, rugging and how I want to keep mine! legs normally come off for the very last clip too but this time I did it on the 2nd clip. B**ger will knock himself and then his legs blow up meaning a couple of days off. Clipped his legs so any little cut is immediately visible!

Yeah, he has fluffy legs and I will probably take everything off when we get to the last clip too.... cant abide it when they grow back and you can see the clip... Im a snob:rolleyes: I cant stand a wolly winter coat unless the horse is not working. I think all that scurf must be awfully uncomortable :D
