Does anybody here train with either Tessa Thorne, Annabel Scrimgeour or Fiona Foy? Due to a huge upheavel in circumstances it looks like I'm on the look out for a new trainer and want someone who can continue where my previous trainer left off (ie, correctly, traditionally trained)

PM me if more appropriate...
Thanks :)

I'm sorry i don't- but the above trainers are on my "possible" list when i move in the next few months, so I'll be interested in seeing what replies and info you get too!

I got all excited then when I thought someone had responded! ;) Let's hope the helpful H&H'ers can help us both with our search! :)

Hi, I have had a lesson with Fiona Foy, when she did a clinic at our yard. Very nice lady and had a great lesson, couldnt believe that it was my horse that I was sitting on! She had him sussed in 5 minutes and he went brilliantly :)

Hi, Can thoroughly reccomend Fiona Foy, i took Kirico my 5 year old PRE (andalusian) stallion to her for a few days last summer for some training, and she was brilliant and i really took a lot away from spending a few days with her and her horses.
Had only owned him a few months and was relatively inexperienced in owning spanish horses (something she specialises in but caters for all types and abilities) but fiona was able to pinpoint our problems very early on, and set about changing them and get us working better as a team.
We managed to achieve more in the few days with her than we had in the whole of the year, and Kirico was going so much better and more correctly by the end of it even i could feel a massive difference which is saying something! Also having judging experience she knows what a judge is looking for when you ride a test, and how best to achieve it with the individual horse and rider.
Have a look at her websie as theres all the info you could need and more, www.fionafoy.co.uk I know she runs clinics and lessons at various venues around the country, aswell as at her yard in wiltshire, so even if you arent local if you get in touch with her im sure she can sort something as shes very accomodating and helpfull.
Hope this helps! Nat xx

Thanks everyone - have heard lots of really good things about Fiona - but none from anyone who has regularly trained with her so it is good to know that those that have tried her find her just as good. She's slightly out of my travel 'zone' so am hoping we might come to some sort of solution!

If you check out her website she already does clinics in Teffont magna, Berkshire and Hampshire, and i know when i spoke to her shes always interested in running clinics in new venues if theres enough interest.
Shes definatly worth contacting though, unfortuantly due to lack of transport i dont get the chance to have regular lessons, but she would be the first person i call once i get that sorted. Havent got any before pics of Kirico but heres a couple from the breed show last year. Although not perfect by any means hes going so much better than before and we came 4th, which was amazing considering the level of competition and the fact it was our first time there!

Lovely horse!

Annabel is great, she does long distance video lessons on HorseVideoAnalysis.com and her comments and exercises are spot on.

I like the fact that she is a top DR judge and has produced young horses to top level in eventing and Sj too. She will not let you fiddle or fake the horse onto the bit, only the real deal will do.

When pony is fitter, am hoping to do monthly lessons with a video review mid-month, to make sure I'm doing it right!

Do you already have lessons with her HV? She is by far the closest of the 3 so it would be very convenient! But I've also been wanting lessons with Fiona based on reputation for a while now!

Tessa is brilliant, really nice and a great trainer. We have used her on and off for many years, different horses and different riders and she has always been great. Also she doesnt mind you going off and using different trainers and then going back to her.
She is also a very good Dressage judge and as she competed herself v successfully to GP has a wealth of experience.
Can highly recommend her.

Annabel is also a great trainer but can be hard to get hold of.
