My sister has a Danish Warmblood gelding who may have been bred as a dressage horse but who wants to be an eventer.
She used to live and work with horses in southern England but moved back to Denmark some half dozen years ago, and she is rather frustrated by the arena-bound horse culture she is now surrounded by.
Fausto was bought to be sold. And I suggested that we ask the good people of H&H fora whether they think a horse like this might be of interest to an eventing home in the UK.
He is such a sweet and cuddly horse and is only 6 years old. She started him slow - he has only been ridden this year. He is by the sire Franklin with a Dancier x Blue Hors Romanov mare as a dam, so it is stellar dressage blood and he has the spectacular movement to match but LOVES jumping. He never looks at fillers or arena decorations, not even when he was entered for his first show jumping competition and had to navigate new arenas and busy warm-up rings. He has also done various horsemanship events where he adores being the centre of everyone’s attention.
He is used to indoor and outdoor schools, and to roads trafficked by cars, tractors and lorries; he is not a problem with other horses and loves being fussed over. He does need a capable rider to bring out his potential.
My sister doesn’t want him to wither away in a Danish competitive home that will only care for his paces.
But what do you think? Will eventers in the UK even consider buying a horse from Denmark (of all places)?

I can't imagine many people will be interested in undergoing the hassle of importing when there are plenty of proven eventers in this country. If she really wants him to go to a UK home, it'd probably be worth moving him herself and putting him on sales livery here.

Unfortunately most people won’t consider importing a horse with no eventing record, especially at 6 (so realistically will be 7 by the time it gets eventing) and with dressage breeding

He looks like a lovely horse!
You are unlikely to get many people willing to travel for an unproven dressage bred gelding.
If you can get some really good video and the price is right it’s possible someone would take a punt unseen.
Are there any decent Danish eventing yards that could get him seen?

Pammy Hutton loves a hybrid.... She does the dressage and Tom Rowland events for her. Always worth a shot!

If he was in this country, I would be very interested in looking at him as I have a 7yo by Franklin....but as I shouldn't really be looking for another, I wouldn't want to get involved in the hassle of looking abroad/importing etc. I suspect the potential price might be another issue for eventers in this country without any eventing form to date?
