What sort of an expert are you after!? Am in Midlands and know lots of people from a variety of fields so can probably help one way or another. Where are you?

I'm in worcestershire but it for an idea I am trying to work throug the viability of, that of lectures, demonstrations and forums for people to learn about various different topics from.

Sounds a good idea- people are always keen to go to demos and lectures on various things. Our Riding Club and a local vets both have them.
Good thing to aim at riding schools and places with more amateur owners as often very useful for them
