Think its time to replace my skull cap this winter so thought I'd ask you nice people if there are any hats out there that will stop me getting the dreaded hat hair! I've currently got a Champion skull, not sure which one but it cost about £90.

I've aways admired the Badminton riders who give interviews without hat after a ride round that huge xc and have not even broken sweat, but I only have to school for 30 mins and my hair is a matted sweaty mess-nice! Doesnt help being blonde either which turns a nice shade of sweaty dark blonde!!

Suggestions please?? (needs to be a skull cap for eventing though x)

I've got a Charles Owen Pro II, its great. I tend to... erm "glow" too, and my head doesn't sweat in it, even in summer after wearing it for SJ then XC at ODE. x

sorry, no suggestions, but was i the only one expecting a thread about anti-perspirant? :$

^^^^yes me two in a way!

Ayr8 is fab but think its peaked. ITs going to be cold, you arnt going to sweat as much in winter :D but champion ventair vote here. Never heard of UVEX, off to google...

I have the Charles Owen J3 and still get a sweaty head, tends to be just as bad in winter and hat always needs airing/drying (eurghhh).

How do the UVEX fair in terms of meeting safety standards? Just had a look on their website and can't see anything re them meeting regulations etc, so they may not be allowed for BE? Do like the idea of them though.

The UVEX is the helmet Ingrid Klimke wears across country! So definitely allowed in FEI competitions. I am 100% sure they are 'safe enough' for BD, do BD and BE follow the same guidelines?

That's good to hear. Someone else will be able to advise better re BE guidelines, I'm not in the loop with them having a CO skull cap which I know is ok for what I do. As I say realy like the idea/design behind the UVEX.

OMG I want a UVEX. What a great idea! I have curly hair that I straighten and the idea of keeping my head cool and thus my hair straight-ish is massively appealing. Plus I love the colour choices - I'd love a matt grey one.

I did see the Gatehouse Air Rider in a rather attractive matt black in my local tack shop - http://www.gatehouserange.co.uk/gatehouse-airrider-helmet-p-266.html - it fitted beautifully, was well ventilated, felt lovely and was well under £100. I'm sure you could take the peak off to put a silk on for XC. I didnt realise there were so many options in this style!

Can anyone recommend a Uvex stockist?
