Would you be interested in a 'run flat' tyre? This basically means that if you had your trailer tyres upgraded to 'run flat tyres' it would mean that if you had a puncture your tyre wouldn't go flat. My brother was talking about it today and I wondered if us horsey folk thought it was a good idea it would be approx £25 per tyre for my trailer. What do you think, worth it or not?

Opinions appreciated.

Thanks all!

Having worked in the motor trade for the past 15 years, I am only making an assumption, but..... As far as I know the tyre your brother is talking about is a car tyre, not a trailer tyre. The difference being the wall rating, trailer tyres have a T rating which is load bearing more than speed rated as car tyres.
I may well be out of touch but please just check with somebody that the tyres are specifically for trailers.
BTW the £25 sounds a bit too cheap to me!

Anything that makes towing safer is on my shopping list.

I hope such a thing does exist for Trailers, if not, they should develop one

I think the concept sounds good, but like fatarse2 I am a bit wary about the overly cheap price tag. If they are genuinely suitable for trailers, then they sound fab.

Ifor Williams do foam filled tyres which sound the same concept as this and they work out roughly the same price per tyre (check with your local dealer)... my dealer advised against them as they cannot be repaired, so any damage (chip or puncture) would mean a new tyre each time - could work out expensive in the long run
