As some of you on here may have seen i launched a brand new directory of livery yards last month which has had a fantastic response (thank you :D)

It is the first directory of its type being solely for livery yards (not a general equine directory) and with the listings being submitted and maintained by the yard owner... and best of all it is totally free!

So far i have had an amazing response with nearly 200 yards uploading their details in just over three weeks and over 150,000 hits.

However, most of these listings are large livery yards or equestrian centres which already have an online presences in the way of adverts or listings.

One of my biggest aims for ******* is to have a full directory of all types of yard, especially the smaller, local yards that many people only hear of by word of mouth or in their local saddleries. These are what i really want to get onto the directory so i can offer a whole range of livery types to suit all types of owner and budget but damn are they difficult to track down :o

If you have a yard offering ANY type of livery services (inlcuding horse holidays, short term event stabling, stud livery, production for sale/ competition) and so on then you are eligible for a FREE listing.

All that is needed to register is an email address and a short form helps you upload all of the required information. You can return at any time to update or change the advert or photos. Each listing also has its own web address so ideal for those without their own webpage as this web address can be uploaded to other adverts.

Please take a look and add a listing if you have a suitable yard. Or maybe you are at one of the yards i am looking to include and could suggest a listing to your yard owner, or forward a link to any contacts you have who may be suitable candidates to add their yard.

Thanks for reading!! ;)

I really hope you get more of these little yards being added.

Not sure how else you're trying to reach out to them but how about contacting riding clubs and try and get the message out in their newsletters or on their websites? Might reach liveries at these smaller yards who could put the word onto their YO?

Got to admit though, I am still hoping for a 'rates' option to be added. I'm trying to suss out livery costs in the area I am moving to and quite a few yards have prices on their own websites, which is really useful, but several don't - considering I don't have a horse right now I don't want to actually call or email and ask, it would be a bit timewasting.

Thank you :)

I should also like to point out that whether you have two stables or a fifty two stables, a flash indoor school or a bit of field to ride in people search for all types of livery to suit all budgets and all types of horse so however remote, scruffy or insignificant you think you yard may be... add it anyway!! ;)

Hello!

Yes at the moment all yards have been sourced through direct contact with the yard owners themselves and a lot from my last posting on here when it was first launched which is why it has been hard to find those lesser knwon yards.

My next plan of action is to contact all of the riding clubs, pony clubs and other associations to try to get a bulletin (if they are kind enough ) on their newsletters or websites.

As said previously all suggestions to improve the website will be taken on board and some have been actioned already. But please remember that this is totally self funded (after years as a frustrated horse owner trawling sites and saddleries trying to find livery! :() and everytime i amend it, it costs money!!

This is totally free to all users and does offer much, much more to yard owners listing wise than many of the equine directories which charge for listings.

Well it is brand new... only launched three weeks ago. Broken the 200 yard mark today :)

I want to make it the 'Rightmove' of livery yards.. so keep on spreading the word people ;)
