Yes mine get about a cupfull per day too. I can't remember how long it took for their coats to look good as I have been on them for so long now.

But I did notice their feet had seriously improved within a couple of months. The new growth was significantly better than the rest of the horns.

I don't feed sunflowers for anything except for healthy feet, however the bodies all look great too...an added bonus.

You can get them in places that sell animal feeds, I get them where I buy my dog food, just ask for a big bag of black sunflower seeds, sold as bird food.

Mine were on them for about 4 weeks when the farrier asked what I was feeding differently as it was the most he'd ever had to trim off there feet.

The funny thing is - he's feeding his them now

My feed merchant wouldn't sell me them with the outer shell on ,so I bought just the kernals[he said they can't digest the shell properly and it could cause problems] So I am feeding a hanndful, would like to know what everyone thinks

Mine been on all winter he looks great, also converted 2 others on yard so we share a large bag, 1 cup twice a day. Others just laugh and say we are propergating Argyll with Sunflowers, at least we can collect our own seeds if that happens
