Decided to brave going to a riding school again after... well, a few years lets say :p

Looking for a riding school that is reasonably priced near Reading town centre, preferably easily accessible by public transport as I can't drive.

Please reccommend me a riding school or if you know of ones to avoid in that area that would be great too ;)

Strawberry laces and orange & mango juice for anyone who replies :)

I think Hall Place in Tilehurst ticks all those boxes :) If you PM Charlie76 on here she's their centre manager.

I would recommend Wellington Country park, but you don't drive. There is Hall Place which in only in Tilehurst & very easy to get to & bus routes near by. They have a website if you want to check it out :)

Hall Place http://www.hall-place.com/ is probably easiest to access by public transport: Reading Buses 28a is nearest, or 33 or 17 will mean a 5-10 minute walk , so quite easy to get to these days (I used to have to walk from Tilehurst Triangle as that was the nearest I could get a bus to from my house in the '70s, but back then most of Tilehurst was fields!)
Burley Lodge http://burleylodge.co.uk/home/page.html at Burley Lodge Stud, Hyde End Road, Spencers Wood and I think you need a 72 or 82a from the town centre (station?). The RS is an newish one, but run by experienced staff who previously worked at another RS a little further afield. It's very near Dobbies Garden Centre but on the other side of the road, however these buses don't go as frequently.

Another vote for Hall Place! I rode there whilst at university. Really lovely riding school with great horses (when I was last there about 5 years ago). They host loads of local shows and will let you use the school horses for these- absolutely brilliant for a big wimp like me who just wants to dip their toes in the world of competitions and potter round the mini cross country or teeny showjumping on a horse that knows their stuff! They have some absolutely lovely instructors, I really enjoyed my time there.

Wellington Riding is also good, though I think someone's already said not that easy by public transport... I only rode there a few times but they were always friendly and helpful.

Ah, just remembering horses at HP now... I wonder if Newman is still there? He was such a stroppy thing, but I loved riding him :)

Can also recommend Hall Place. Rode there before I got my own horse. Everyone is very friendly and some nice quality horses.

Another vote for Burley Lodge . . . lovely horses, great instructors, lovely yard/facilities. Ask for Jenny as your instructor.

PM me about Bearwood.

Thanks guys think I'm going to go with Hall place, their horses all look nice and shiney :D And only 15 min bus journey from OH's house so not bad!

Now just have to wait for exams to be over in a couple of weeks :(
