I'm a Memeber of West Ox
Originally came on here for advice and opinions, now i chat a bit - and give some of my own advice (just the little experience I have!)
I like finding events and goings on too - to suppliment the RC calendar (were a bit slim of XC events)
I am on the committee of a non-competitive BRC club in North Wales, we organise fun rides and other horsey events to raise money for a variety of charities. Not much call for competitions in that area, but we get a great turnout of leisure riders at our rides.
I am a member of Solihull Riding Club although I'm afraid I can't really say 'proud' member. Have been for 15 years now.
I have been using H&H forum for the last couple of years. I am attracted by posts which I can try and help people using my experience gained from owning my own horses. I never claim to be an expert and will quite happily say if I don't know the answer but try to give support at the same time. I have to say I have noticed that posts that have the word 'PTS', 'goodbye', 'devastated', or similar wording in their title attract a huge number of views compared with other posts. I must admit I am attracted to those posts before anything else. Why are we such a morbidly curious bunch?????
I like reading the New Lounge and vets bit best. I have used the 'veterinary' and 'dog' sections myself in order to get help for problems.
I am just like the rest of you though - have a common love of horses and all things countryside.
All the family are RC members although OH and I dont ride at them we help out a lot and volunteer for things, both kids are active members of the committee though so I dont feel too bad. I tend to look at stable, NL and comp riders.
