Calling every horse owner, rider or equine enthusiast in Britain – come and share your knowledge of veterinary care and therapy at www.equinesurvey.co.uk by answering nine questions, completely anonymously for two minutes! As part of my third year degree in equine science I am carrying out a research on 'the public perception of the use of equine therapies in relation to the law'. For my data collection, I have designed a short on-line questionnaire (only nine questions and about two minutes long) investigating what sort of complementary therapies people use for their horses and people's knowledge of the law regarding complementary therapies. Your equine experience, no matter how small, is important to us, so please visit www.equinesurvey.co.uk. Once you have completed the questionnaire you can email results@equinesurvey.co.uk to request the results of the research, a link to which will be emailed to you when the project is completed. Thank you very much for reading my message and I look forward to receiving your answers very soon.

Many thanks,

Perrine Junalik.

Hardly Latest News, multiple post will just piss everyone off, not get people to do your survey.

Thank you for your response to the survey. It is important that the survey is circulated to as many people as possible. It is a reasonable assumption that a fair amount of forum viewers or members are unlikely to have seen the survey advertisement when it was first posted, and that some forum members will not check every section of the forum. I appreciate that for regular users of the forum, seeing the same message posted a number of times may cause annoyance. I kindly request, please, that for the short period that I will assist the researcher with this project, that individuals who object strongly, using offensive language, kindly ignore the post.

Important for you, perhaps. Annoying for us, especially given that it is so badly designed.

It is a reasonable assumption that a fair amount of forum viewers or members are unlikely to have seen the survey advertisement when it was first posted, and that some forum members will not check every section of the forum.

It is also a reasonable assumption that this is a self selecting sample so will not give you results which apply to all horse owners/keepers.

This is a very terse response to other forum users' comments, one which shows you and Hartpury College in a less than flattering light.

If the user has permission from HHO to post in every forum then I don't see a problem - however I think this is very unlikely as Admin would make an official request - perhaps you can confirm. Spamming forums was not an acceptable method of research when I was studying!

I have just answered your survey but have to say that I think it is very poorly written and I don't see how you are going to get any valuable data from it. Unfortunately it just compounds my views on the standards at some/most equine colleges.

I have to agree with Ben_and_Jerrys here. I currently do not own a horse, but my previous horse was treated by a physio. However, following your survey you send me to the final 2 questions & don't seem to want my answers on the subject.

I also don't really see how most of your questions will help answer your objective.

Did you pilot this survey before posting it here? I would have struggled to get this passed by my undergrad dissertation supervisor & my postgrad supervisor would have laughed me out of the room if I'd tried to use this.

I'm happy to answer your survey, but this honestly needs serious work

Just filled it in, thanks. It's obviously causing a lot of fuss, can't see what the problem is myself!

I did want to explain a bit more about why I refer to my therapist first, but couldn't...just focusing on the law aspect I suppose - good luck with the research!
