I've not been doing much at the yard for the last couple of months for various reasons; Ellie is pretty much out 24/7 and I havent ridden as much as I'd have liked to

But now I have completely finished Uni and have no extra hours at work, I am hoping to spend a bit more time with my girlie

Not that she seems to care - I think she's perfectly happy 'roughing it'!

I left her in last night, and went up early this morning to pull her mane, brush out her tail etc. After an hour and a half of pampering (!) and having mucked out, we went for a gentle 45 minute hack around the roads. Nothing too strenuous, you might think! But I am now sat here, having spent 3 and a half hours doing what I would consider 'normal' horsey things, and my hands feel like they're falling apart

I've got callouses appearing in places I've never known them before; my hands are so sore! It just goes to show how tough and resistant our hands get when working out on the yard!

Udder cream! Should be able to get it from any country / farm store, it's ace for absolutely loads of stuff, I use it on Ped's if he has cracked heels, know alot of people who use it for mud fever, all sorts but it's really fab hand cream too!!!

I sympathise - this happens to me! I use cocoa butter and mallow moisturiser from Boots. Its only about £1.50 and is fab!

Oooh thank you - I shall have a look for some!

I'm using Neutrogena at the moment which is ok, but very expensive and still leaves me with sore hands
