I've not been doing much at the yard for the last couple of months for various reasons; Ellie is pretty much out 24/7 and I havent ridden as much as I'd have liked to
But now I have completely finished Uni and have no extra hours at work, I am hoping to spend a bit more time with my girlie
Not that she seems to care - I think she's perfectly happy 'roughing it'!
I left her in last night, and went up early this morning to pull her mane, brush out her tail etc. After an hour and a half of pampering (!) and having mucked out, we went for a gentle 45 minute hack around the roads. Nothing too strenuous, you might think! But I am now sat here, having spent 3 and a half hours doing what I would consider 'normal' horsey things, and my hands feel like they're falling apart
I've got callouses appearing in places I've never known them before; my hands are so sore! It just goes to show how tough and resistant our hands get when working out on the yard!
