Calmer & Blood test - any ideas?

Hi, I'm after some advice on what my next step should be.

I have a horse that is incredibly spooky, always alert, and on edge. He is noise sensitive and can become very tense. I had him on equifeast cool, calm & collected bombproofing (contains active ingredients: Vitamins: D, B1 (Thiamine), B2 (Riboflavin), B3 (Niacin) Minerals: Calcium, Magnesium, plus L-Tryptophan), but at £40 every 5 weeks I thought it would be cost effective to have a blood test to see whether I could buy an individual ingredient. The blood test result came back that he was not deficient in magnesium, calcium, phosphorous, or potassium.

When he was on the calmer, he wasn't so reactive. He could stand and process things and then move on. Since he has been off the calmer he spooks at most things, and is really reactive to little things. Could it have been the vitamins he is lacking - shall I try him on a broad spectrum vitamin supplement? Technically, he is on a complete fibre feed so should be covered..? Or could it have been the L-Trytophan helping him?

Any ideas would be appreciated. :-)

I have an incredibly spooky horse too. I give him Alltech Lifeforce as a supplement, it's similar to the Equifeast but a darned sight cheaper, I can't comment on a comparison between the two, but my horse is most definitely more chilled out on the Lifeforce than without it. It works out around £20/month; his feet and coat are also fantastic on it. I cannot recommend this supplement highly enough!

I also don't give him any hard feed at all, he just gets chaff.

Hi, thanks. I looked at it on their website but I couldn't see the ingredients. Do you have a link please so I can see what is in it? :-)
