Hello all. My horse is currently on one level scoop of Horse First Calm Me in his morning and evening feed. He’s been on it approx. three weeks and has definitely become calmer on the ground (less reactive to noises / more relaxed in his stable / more chilled out to green / calmer to turn out etc). However, he is still anxious when hacking out in traffic. He starts to spook and switches on dragon breathing mode. I was wondering whether it would be worth trying a calming cookie an hour before we go for a hack. It may not even work on him but before I give it a go, does anyone know if it is okay to mix a longer term calmer (like Calm Me) with an occasional calming cookie?

And has anyone experienced any positive effects from the cookies!? I’ve bought a small bag of the Premier Performance ones.

Thanks in advance.

One of mine isn't a big fan of traffic - particularly motorbikes, so If I've got a hack scheduled for him, Ive found 'Hilton Herbs Calm and collected' quite good. He has some the evening before, and the morning of our hack. It does seem to make a bit of difference.

Has anything changed in routine etc to cause anxiety? Is he in pain? What is he actually doing?
No nothing, we have only had him a few months and he has just been treated for Grade 3 Ulcers and has all clear, he is very fidgety won't stand still, hates being seperated from the herd and makes so much noise when he is on his own always calling for his friends, just quite un settled
