Calmer for a nappy horse?

So last September I bought a pony who I had previously shared for 4 years, kept him at same yard as it was easiest at the time, however due to various reasons we have recently moved (he was moved twice before I took him on as he went on loan first) so this little lad has had a fair few changes in the past few months. Anyway back to the point, my once very calm happy hacker has turned into a complete nutjob! Naps out hacking alone (no option of going out in company all the time as I'm up the yard when nobody else usually is!) Very spooky too.
So I was wondering if anyone has ever had any luck using a calmer for a nappy horse? Feedmark steady up seems to have very good reviews but don't want to spend 40 quid if not worth it! Any advice appreciated

My calm and confident mare suddenly started spooking and napping. Turns out she has ulcers. It may be that the moves have stressed him and he's uncomfortable or in pain? Worth getting the vet to advise.

Good luck! Hope you get your lovely horse back soon xx

It sounds like he might be unsettled by the chance in yard / routine. Not many calmers will help with that. Horses are prey animals and if he doesn't feel safe nothing - not even vet sedation - will help.
